Privacy Policy

Mate in 3 is made by Lambda Innovations Inc. (“we”, “us”), a Canadian corporation. This policy explains what we collect when you use the Mate in 3 app, why, and what you can do about it.
The short version: you upload screenshots of a conversation, we turn them into text and grade it. We delete the screenshots right after reading them. We keep the transcript and review so you can see them later, and you can delete them any time. We don't sell your data, and we never use your conversations for advertising.
What we collect
- Screenshots you upload. Used only to read the conversation. They are deleted from our servers as soon as the text has been extracted, whether or not that succeeds.
- Conversation transcripts and reviews. The text of the messages in your screenshots, any edits you make, and the review we generate. These are stored in your account so you can revisit them.
- Your setup answers. What you want from the app, which apps you text on, how you'd rate your reply rate, and your guess at your score. Used to tailor the app and stored in your account.
- Who you're into stays on your phone. Your answer to “Who are you into?” is saved only on your device. When you grade a chat, the app sends just the pronouns to use for the other person (she, he, or they). We don't store them, and they're never part of analytics.
- An anonymous account ID. The app creates an account for you automatically. We don't ask for your name, email, or phone number.
- Purchase status. Whether you have an active Pro subscription. Payments are handled by Apple; we never see your card details.
- Reminders. If you allow notifications, reminders like “Did they reply?” are scheduled on your device. No push token or chat content is sent to us for them.
- Basic usage analytics. Which screens you open and steps like “review started” or “review finished”, plus device type and app version. Analytics never include the content of your conversations.
Other people in your conversations
Your screenshots contain messages from another person. Only upload conversations you're comfortable sharing with us for analysis. We use that content only to produce your review, we don't build profiles of the people you talk to, and you can delete it at any time.
Who processes your data
We use a small number of service providers to run the app. They process data only on our behalf:
- Supabase stores your account, transcripts, and reviews (servers in the United States).
- Anthropic provides the AI model that reads screenshots and grades conversations. Anthropic does not use this content to train its models.
- RevenueCat and Apple process subscriptions.
- PostHog provides usage analytics (no conversation content).
Because these providers are in the United States, your data may be processed outside Canada.
How long we keep it
- Screenshots: deleted immediately after text extraction.
- Transcripts, reviews, and setup answers: until you delete them or your account.
- Analytics: according to our analytics provider's retention settings.
Your choices
- Delete a chat by long-pressing it on the home screen. This deletes its transcript and grades.
- Delete everything in Settings with “Delete all my data”, which permanently deletes your account and everything in it right away. You can also email support@mateinthree.app.
- You can ask us what data we hold about you or to correct it, by the same email.
Age
Mate in 3 is for adults 18 and over. We don't knowingly collect data from anyone under 18, and the app won't coach conversations that appear to involve minors.
Changes
If we change this policy in a meaningful way, we'll update the date above and let you know in the app.
